Are the proofs/burnished coming back this year?
Or are we going to get stiffed again...

Can't answer your question - just my 2 cents - I have been collecting the PR70 ASE's and when they didn't make any last year - I was upset to say the least. I had my 08 in hand at the end of Jan 09 and waited all year for them to make the 09 just to find out they weren't going to make them for 09. Now it looks like no 10 will be made, at least for now.

Guess I should look for a positive in this - I do have a great collection, it just ended to soon.

Peace
Brent

I do not collect them, but I could see how someone with a pre-dated album would be more than upset at this situation.

I doubt they are produced in 2010.

i highly doubt that they will make them this year. although, I will keep my fingers crossed. I don't like the fact that my collection has a gap and from the looks of things now it will have two gaps.

Those are the bullion coins made for investors, not the uncirculated ones made for collectors.

The differences are distribution (dealers vs. direct), planchets (non-burnished vs. burnished), and mint mark (none vs. 'W').

I prefer to say you were educated.

For the record, I would have thought the same thing before I joined the Community in 2007. I never paid too much attention to the Silver Eagles until I started reading about them here.

We all start somewhere. To the best of my knowledge, no one is born knowing all of this stuff.

Look at the bright side, it has taken me thirty years to learn what you will probably learn in the next year. You just have to love the wired world!

I don't have a good feeling about this year either.
I was kinda hoping someone knew something I didn't.

I was a little bummed about '09, too. But, as long as I can at least get the Unc each year, I'll be happy. Maybe it will make the W's we do have more desirable.

True. Just think if we were writing to each other way back when complaining that there wasn't going to be a '24D Peace dollar. This thread would already be about 6 months long!

I would have to agree. They already have very low mintage numbers compared the the bullion coins. In my opinion, being a "short run" would only add to the perceived value.
