I've got a 1975 German 5 Mark (KM140.1) without a mint mark. it's condition is VF. I've checked it carefully under a magnifying glass and there's definitely no erasure. Is this a common error or could it be a valuable coin?

Never heard about that error.
It could possibly be an obstructed die on the mint mark.
But we will need pics to give a more than just a guess reply.

Herewith a scan of the 1975 5 Mark coin on which I posted a query a short while ago. No mint mark is visible. Thanks for the reply Maundry.

Looks like an obstructed die. I'm not sure but there could be like a shadow of a G below the year.
In any case an interesting coin.
