Egyptian 2008 25 Piastres Error Or What?

EgCollector Pillar of the Community Egypt 3470 Posts	Posted 08/31/2010 05:22 am On all coins the writing and drawing are the highest points (positive), but this coin is weird. Everything is the opposite (negative), seems like being engraved. The coin on the right is a normal 25 piastres (just for comparison) What might cause this to happen, and does this error have a name? Hi Kurt, The coin was weighed yesterday using a digital scale, its weight is 4 gms while the normal coin is 4.4 gms. Does this mean it is a counterfeit? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff
