What would you grade this 1913 penny at? I will post a pic with the graded PCGS holder after a few responses.

This is what I dont understand about the grading process. I have heard stories that larger coins shops will get better grades on certain coins because of name or rep.

Edit. This coin is for sale for 250.00 I wouldnt buy it for that price but I had it at about AU-50 which would put it as 15-20 bucks.

from what I have read, I didn't believe that a coin with a finger print could grade higher than MS-60 or I might be wrong..... what do you think?

that is a finger print and you are right it should not grade much higher than MS60

PCGS is an american company and though they have more experance with canadian coins than most US TPG they never the less almost always grade higher than canadian graders.....this is one reason I am not a big fan of slabbed coins some one will buy it and be none the wiser.

In my opinion.. that coin is not MS-64RB.

The very best it would be is MS-60, if the pics showed different angles.

I apologize for just having a negative comment without having a positive comment also.....I don't like doing that.

It is still a very nice coin and it is one I don't have.....with all due respect, the grading is not as accurate as it could be in my opinion. This is how I should have commented the first time.

No, apology necessary, Bill... everyone grades what they see, you really have to have the coin in hand to make a better judgement..

If, you take the Canadian Standard for grading it is a lot different than how the U.S. grading companies grades coins.

I agree MS-64 R/B. I have seen MS-65 with this coloring as it looks like a finger print that caused the darkening.
