The long scratches near the date are on the holder, not the coin.

(You Vs. ANACS) the title says it all Do you want a grade opinion or a reason not to have your Canadian coins graded by ANACS?

A grade opinion. The coin is already graded by ANACS

I know nothing about Canadian coins but I would say by U.S. standards this is an MS-65

PL? Fields do not seem to be mirrored. Might be the photography...

Here is another in different light. Quote: Anacs....MS67 ICCS MS 63, maybe 64 PL...am not sure, hard to see on the Images. Yes. The coin is ANACS MS-67 with PL fields. (I contacted ANACS and they said the coin was a business strike with proof like fields, but thats another story.) Here are pictures of the holder/coin.

It' a PL coin from a PL set. That's how ANACS grades Canadian PL coins.Of course they are going to defend their position and tell you it's a business strike with PL fields, because that is the American definition.Try and sell this coin at a major Canadian auction, you'll find that it's a $80 coin not a $2000 coin. That's one reason you shouldn't send Canadian coins to ANACS,if you insist on sending them to a US grading company send them to PCGS,as they are more in touch with the realities of Canadian coin collecting.

DBM, would there be any reason to use PCGS over ICCS or CCCS for Canadian coins? Are they considered as reliable for Canadian coins?
on a similar note, I recently purchased an 1876 1 cent Canadian graded ef-40 by National Numismatic Association...can only say I'll never send them one of my coins, or buy another certified by them...at best this coin is vf-20.

I see MS-65 but it mould be nice to have in hand and look at properly. Maybe could be little better than MS-65
