The silver content is .72 ASW. That should give an accurate price.

10xloupe I think the coin has the date worn off - it is in the center of the star to the right of the FIXED date of 1892. BUt it is identifiable as an 1892 by the assayer initial M. This places the coin BELOW Extra Fine in my opinion and makes it a bullion coin.

Be aware that there are numerous forgeries of this coin on the market - some are European in origin but many are Chinese. The forgeries are off metal so weight and density are incorrect and can be detected with a decent scale.

10xloupe- I am one who really likes this type of coin, but beware since there are so many counterfeits of the late 19th century 5 peseta coin. I go to a few coin shows whenever I am in Barcelona and there are tons of these for sale. The only problem is that attending this show is like being in a boat and looking for the island of authentic coins as you sail through a sea of fakes. Seriously, about 4/5 of these coins I saw in Spain were fakes. In fact, at some shows I saw hundreds for sale from many dealers, and most were fakes.

A true, sad story: I met the father of a family friend who lives in Spain. His father proudly showed me his collection of coins. I did not have the heart to tell him that of his about 100 or so coins, about 75 or so were modern, bad fakes.
