Hi. I am new to this and to coin hunting/collecting. Is there anyone that would be willing to chat with me one on one? Like I could send some pictures of coins that I have questions about or anyone willing to just help me learn? I'm not the best on forums.. mostly looking for someone to email and private message. Please do NOT BE INGORANT bc there was once a time u didn't know much either! Thanks

MKD, just post your pics and questions here on the Forum. That way you have thousands of experts who are more than willing to help out a new collector.

@mkd, what you are asking for is not how this forum is run. Rather, please post your various coins in separate threads. Folks will weigh in and gradually come to a consensus as to what you've got.

You can expect to be treated with respect here. If you ever find that to not be the case, please alert us by clicking on the "report this to the staff" link. Thx.

The CCF is an excellent place to share a lifetime interest in coin collecting.
I have lots of numismatic soul buddies in this Forum. My post count attests.
Although I live in Sydney, almost all of the CCF members I have met face to face have been visitors from the U.S.

If it is face to face contact that is important, then membership of a coin club may be the best thing.

I have never been a member of a coin club. My family has always come first, but
I know of lots of numismatic acquaintances that I have met along the way at coin shows, coin dealers that I have known for more than 40 years, and folks that I have met at public auction view days.

Just want to drop in and say thank you for this post. I am also brand new to coins and this forum seems to be a great place to start. Though, after checking a few forum info posts I still had some questions and through this thread I have found answers! The last thing I want to do is be that newbie that asked a question when the solution is right under my nose.

There definitely is a learning curve when having zero experience with a forum like this, but I have to say so far the organization here is extremely helpful!
