Catch-up from yesterday: Spain 4 Maravedis 1641. First time posting this coin as I only picked it up a few years ago (from a LCS in Madrid):

1640 Portuguese India 2 tangas: Though the date is completely worn away (it is at the bottom of the reverse) this is a two year type 1640-1641 (KM# 66) and all findable examples of the 1641 have a square or cross of 4 pellets in the field reverse: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=3859014 whereas the 1640 does not, hence my attribution as 1640.

In another edition of "neck collars that were too big", I present this Austrian 3 Kreuzer dated 1639:

Most excellent adds! I have to wait until the 1620s before I can post a coin again..

1638 teston of Charles IV, Duke of Lorraine, Remiremont mint. Coin with some interesting history behind it. Though today part of France, Lorraine was historically a fief of the Holy Roman Empire, and through the years alternated allegiance between France and the HRE. In response to his meddling in French politics, Charles IV was chased from the throne of Lorraine by French troops in 1633. While in exile, he went into service of Hapsburg emperor Ferdinand III (spence's coin from yesterday) fighting the French in the 30 years' war. In mid-1638 he was able to briefly capture part of eastern Lorrraine, set up a mint in Remiremont, where no coin had been struck for 500 years, and none have been struck since. As best I can tell, by striking this coin he was saying to Louis XIII.

1637 escalin (6 patards or stuivers) of the Duchy of Brabant: One of my few old toners, and (believe it or not) a relatively good strike for this type.
