1635 teston of Nicholas Francois of Lorraine, struck in Florence. Related to my 1638 coin .., when Chares IV was forced from the throne of Lorraine in 1634, he first abdicated in favor of his brother Nicholas. But Nicholas abdicated back to Charles just 4 months later. This coin was struck in Florence in Nicholas' name while he was in exile there (nice work if you can get it ). He was the great-grandfather of the Francois of Lorraine who married Maria-Theresa and began the Hapsburg-Lorraine dynasty.

Time for some mindless statistics? First 100 years (2025-1926) - 335 pages Next 100 years (1925-1826) - 194 pages Next 100 years (1825-1726) - 50 pages Next 100 years (1725-1626) - 31 pages (estimate... we are at 29 with 9 days left) Not quite an exponential decay curve, but you get the picture. And no shock that FAR fewer coins get posted after 1800. For 1634, a Thirty Years' War coin of the Silesian Evangelical Estates (the Protestant nobility and merchants in opposition to Emperor Ferdinand): The provocative reverse legend translates as "If God is with us, who could be against us?"

Also 30 years' war coins (Swedish occupation). I've got a mix of denominations from there. Here is a schilling/solidus from 1633:
