Quote: I kind of wish I would have bought the 8100 from the get go. Ah well. you still can, and then sell the one you have back on ebay and recoup some of that money..

That is an idea. Unfortunately, I am not all too keen on how to sell things on ebay... I think I might wait until I have a few more of the proofs, though! I am going to try to accumulate all of the Memorial proofs, including the ones before 1975. These are all easily obtainable, and look pretty cool. I might also obtain a few late wheat cents ones as well. I have a 1918-S in VF condition coming in the mail that I got for around 6 bucks. I love when you look at an item on ebay, and a seller later sends you an "offer," for cheaper.

But sometimes that offer is not a big savings - somewhere I posted that a seller gave me a One Cent (0.01¢)offer off the original selling price..

It kind of depends how impatient I am. Lol. I find myself more often than not if it's a good deal, snagging some wheat cents or Buffalo nickels this way. Today, I got my ebay order of my 1918-S. The seller was super nice, left a little note for me, and also included some "bonus coins." Hey, I'm all for that! I think this 18-S looks fantastic, though. I believe it was XF condition. Like I said, I think from now on, I'm gonna try to find the first two pages for whatever I can in this condition. They added some 2009 BU coins it looks like. I think this 18-S looks really nice. The quality of the of the 18-S compared to the other 1918 minted coins I have. I would like to replace with XF eventually. Any thoughts, guys?

Seems like a decent quality to aim for. I'm not great on grading. For circulated, I just go by what looks good to me....and that looks good to me

Thanks, seamonkey5150. Yeah, I don't think it's too bad. I went to a coin show today! It was very cool. Unfortunately, I didn't come with much money because our budget is kinda tight right now. I did get a few things, though. They also had some 1970-S small date Memorial cents. Cheapest one was 40 bucks, which I unfortunately did not have lol A few random shots. I was too overwhelmed lol This is what I came away with for Lincoln cents. I got some nice older Memorial proofs I think. I am still not sure whether I am going to collect all proofs, or just some. I think for now I am going to stick to some of the older ones, particularly between 1957-ish to 1974. I really wanted to find some older Lincoln cents, like first page ones, in XF condition, but they were a bit more than I was hoping for and I couldn't really see them as well honestly. I should have brought my glasses. Lol. I might just stick to ebay for this. I was more than happy with the 18-S I got, and if I can find them in condition for a decent deal like that, I'll go with those. I also got a few other random coins, nothing too fancy.

I really love the look of some of these older proofs, though. The ones in particular before 1969. I like the strike on them, similar to older Jefferson proofs. Beautiful coins, though. They also had several proof 1970-S small date Memorial cents, which were pretty costly.

Nice pick ups! I've not been to a coin show. I can imagine being overwhelmed since there are so many coins I'd want. I'm sure I'd spend way too much $$$. For now I'll just have to stick with ebay. At least I can comparison shop and not be rushed and can stagger my purchases out to budget better.

Thanks, my friends! Yeah, honestly, I think I will stick to ebay! I'm not sure how often they do this actual show. I am thinking maybe once a month? I definitely wish I could have got my hands on one of those 1970-S small dates. Maybe next time. They had several substantially cheaper than ebay.

So now you got me looking at Small Date 1970-S cents on ebay. I swear some of them advertised were not actually small dates from what I could tell. But I'm not an expert, just got my curiosity up.

I'm not paying nearly 100 dollars for one. Ironically, I also still need the 1960 small date as well. I haven't even started looking at those at all.

How about the 1974 P+D+S Small and Large Date and the 1974-S Proof type 1 and type 2
