Here we go again. After being brutalized last month by Superman and Sacagawea, how many are ready to dip into their savings to get this one? I have all the other American Liberty coins, so I guess I'm in.

Too expensive for me. At what point is the price going to get so high the demand will stop for what roughly is gold bullion.

I'm out. It is beautiful and I can understand people wanting it. An ounce is too much money. I'm taking a chance that the Gold Sac dollar was a good move. IDK if I'll flip it right away or sit on it awhile. But I could swing that because it's a 1/2 ounce. The 1oz Liberty? Nah, that was never happening. Not because of the design as much as the weight. The silver medal, I think I'm done with those. Not the same without the high relief. Plus the other ASE releases this year. I did get burned on the Bristlecone Pine, I ordered and it had finning. I returned it and didn't even ask if a replacement was possible. Really ticked me off they couldn't quality control any better than that. I did get a silver medal of that one. But not any more, with ASE releases coming one after another now.

Older gold is cheaper. If interested Monument Metals has a sale on 1 oz gold proof American Eagle random year and 2009 gold ultra high relief. The proof eagle is about 4.5% over spot, the 2009 is about 6.7% over spot if you pay by wire/check.

It's a beautiful coin for sure. However, this is one of those Mona Lisa situations where I think everyone would rather look at it behind a display case than having to receive a bill for purchasing it.

As much as I'd love the gold, I think I'm going for the silver here.
