Perhaps CCF doesn't think about this, but if (precious) metals keep exploding in price then the majority of coin collectors can pretty much forget about collecting coins.

I see it differently NumisEd. The high prices of PM's have made collectable coins more interesting to me. It's not a great time to be picking up cc half eagles, but it is a great time to get Phoenician shekels.

Silver has a ways to go, but even then, do not discount the collectibility of base metal coins.

With the silver to gold ratio at 85:1, why would anyone consider buying gold instead of silver? For base metals, look at the price rise in nickel.

Dude, then we will have way more problems to worry about than whether or not we can afford to collect coins.

When it rains, it pours.

I've never seen an allocation this high from a major firm.

Over 50 years, my experience has been that
numismatic prices generally,
very loosely track the precious metal price trends.

Other fine art objects generally do the same.

All are tangible assets.

When it is uncertain where prices of other asset classes will trend in the future, such as bonds and stocks, tangible asset classes of investment become a bit more attractive.

Me either, but IMHO Morgan-Stanleys CIO's track record has been spotty over the past few years
