My son is currently traveling through Guatemala and is asking where he might have some luck finding Spanish Colonial coins. Not looking for high grade just a common worn example to bring back as a reminder of his visit. Anybody have any ideas?

@jfr, you might find this thread from @ultrarant useful, although any info on Guatemala would be pretty old at this point. Also, your son should definitely familiarize himself with the laws of Guatemala and expatriating coins.

There is a numismatic museum in Guatemala city, https://banguat.gob.gt/page/museo-n...de-guatemala
There is also a small one in Antigua in a bank.
