Cool. There are some nice choices there.

I like the Afghani, the Nepalese, and the Japanese pieces. The other 14 pieces didn't move me at all and several of the bordered on unattractive. I don't think any of them would really make a serious list of the most beautiful coins.

There are some nice looking coins in the group, but IMO none would qualify as the most beautiful.

I agree, the author of the article must arrive at work every day with the aid of a white tipped cane and a seeing eye dog.

I doubt the author perused through all the coins to make the choice. Most of his selection are quite common looking. Well, this matter is always just an opinion.

Probably not a numismatist, and the article should be titled the " world's most beautiful circulating coins" as the author probably didn't consider the commemorative €2 some of which are truly outstanding. The only coin I liked was the NZ kiwi dollar. Very subjective topic, no two people are ever going to agree on the list.

While I do not find any of these coins unattractive, I must say that any list of "The World's Most Beautiful Coins" will always be subjective, as zazenboy just said.

as subjective as you can get; none would make my top list of "world's most beautiful" , don't think the St. Guadens could be left of any such list

Not really any that are too good looking I would say. But I've never been one for the norm

Now see, why can't we here in the US have some nice looking coins? Why are we stuck with dead Presidents?

Quote: Why are we stuck with dead Presidents? I would make a very pertinent analogy for you comparing the actual usefulness of a dead one as opposed to a live one, but it probably would be frowned upon as an uncalled for political statement. Maybe we should be thankful for what we've got.....can you imagine the portrait of Nancy Pelosi or Barney Frank on our coinage? The way things are going, it may not be such a far fetched notion.
