chaStL New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 05/14/2010 6:42 pm I'm not a big coin collector but I read that it's pretty rare to find one of these. I believe it's a 1937 Philadelphia, in fair condition for being in circulation so long (at least the details aren't all worn off; but it looks more like copper than nickel). It does look like it spent some time in the ground and corroded a bit. Though I wouldn't recommend cleaning, I think an acetone dip might help get off some of the surface issues. I don't collect many nickels, but I thought it was really cool to find that coin in change and it is in really good condition. It is at least XF and pushing close to AU. I was pretty happy to get such a nice coin that is so old still in circulation...I'll give it a nice retirement.
