I hope you folks are ready for this, starting with Reverse Die Cracks: 1999: 5 to rim  2000: Through Spines to 5 through S to Rim  2001: Die Crack spines to tip of 5 + blob: look right D.Crack 5 to Rim  2001: Close up of the above coin  2001: Die Crack near left Claw  2001: Die Crack to right of SD  2001:D.Ck Spines-5-rim  2001:D.Ck through Spines left of SD  2003:D.Ck 5-spines-5-S-rim  2005:D.Ck spines-5-rim  2006:3xRevD.Cks 2 to left of 5, one from last spine on right to rim (V. faint)  2006:Upper part of 5 to bottom of 5, Blob - 5 to rim  2006:D.Ck Left of SD  2007:D.Ck through spine - 5 - to rim  life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Now some Obverse ones: 2001:Rim-E-Neck  2001:D.Ck Rim to Neck & Up  2003:D.Ck Rim-0-into cheek  2005:D.Ck Rim-Neck  2008:D.Ck above Eliza.  I have heaps of the Reverse ones, most are pretty similar to the ones posted. I hope it gives you some clues as to what to look for. Nancy, I think you must have been sneaking into the mint with a big hammer to bash the dies.  That is too many die crack 5ΒΆ for one person. Jeff |

Thanks a lot Nancy!
Looks like the one that I found and lost again had 3 die cracks....
I did not pay too much attention at the time, as I had not looked that closely at them before, and was not all that sure what I was looking for.

Wow...I especially like the crack/blog that changes the shape of the 5, and the crack that goes right through 2003!  |

You must have fantastic eyesight My eyesight is terrible!. I use either a 5x or 10x Loupe and once you know what to look for, it makes the searching a lot easier. Wait till you see some of the 10c D.Cracks I've got.  life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Nancyc you are amazing  I have to use reading glasses and a 30x loupe to grade my coins.  I have no idea what to look for in decimal coins (they are just change to me). But I should noodle through my change bag when I get back from my work on remote minesites instead of just giving them to my grandchildren. I have been keeping the young head elizebeth coins and have been hoarding them in an icecream container. |
