well have a look at this! I just found it and thought I was seeing things or going mad from looking at too many coins ....does anyone know how this might have got there or what this might be worth?

Sorry larena, it is PMD. People with too much time on their hands do this to coins. I have quite a few of them, some are numbers, some are letters, mostly on $1 coins, but occasionally other denominations.

By the way, to the forum.

PMD, they are not that uncommon. I found a dollar in the pokies with my first name carved into one side and a love heart on the other! Truly it is my coin :) By the way we get asked a lot about these stamped coins: http://www.australian-threepence.co...letters.html
