Is there a way of telling from the obverse of the 1981 20 cent coin if it is Wales,Australian or Canadian Mint ? I ask this question as I have a 1981 roll heads heads & really mainly just want to know if you can pick the Canadian coins from the Obverse.

Arrrhhh, found the answer. Obverse text is flat, bases are curved on some letters,Queen has strong eyebrow hair lines. Been looking for this info for a couple of days & as soon as I post the topic I find the info, typical.

Here are the obverses from the Canadian 50 cent of the same year I imagine that they would be the same on the 20 cents as they are of similar size

The text is much closer to the rim on the obverse for the canadian minted coins.

Quote: The mint mark I have observed on the chinese minted coins is more of a cud probably from a grain of rice or piece of off prawn shell stuck to the die. Most of the planchets also seem to be stained with what seems to look like soy sauce.

What a pissa about the Chinese coins, love it.
As for the post, when I get back, I'm going to have to look at my (3 & a half claws) 1981's & look into the finer details. Thanks for pointing that one out, I always thought it was just the 3 & a half claws rather than also being the obverse as well as the reverse.
I admit, I am powerless over $50 notes - to the point that my life has become unmanageable because of this addiction. I am a NOTE-A-HOLIC
