I received a box today from Wells Fargo who uses Brinks here in Houston and when I opened the box I was prepared for disappointment. I saw 3 of the rolls on top had markings of other CRH. I actually took the time to see how many we're marked . 52 of the half dollars were marked by (3) other coin roll hunters . I really feel like they just gather up our dumped coins and repackage them immediately for the following weeks orders . Pretty disheartening. Maybe they figure that after awhile we will give up. wish I could get an old box with old wrappers. Maybe even some dust or a small cobweb on it .

I think you should look through them anyway. You never know, the previous searchers may not have checked for varieties, errors and the like. Or they may have missed some silver!

I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

Hi Houston, like your avatar. The coin markings may or may not be one hunter. They mark coins for a reason, and if I marked coin, I would systematically mark them differently. You're right, as far as the packaging, first in, first out. There is a way to get to the bottom of the pallet, but it would take coordination between local crh'ers.

I did go ahead and look through the box. That's how I was able to find out that there were 54 total. Don't worry I had a bank call me and let me know that I had a box come in. I went and picked it up . I have found 2 40%ers so far and I have 20 rolls to go. It's not a monster, but it's something. Good luck guys . By the way , it was a Brinks box also. I think they dominate the coin delivery market here. I have yet to see any other type of packaging here.

Well I have an update . Brinks box number two for the day from a bank near downtown . The box was new , the wrappers were new , very few had any markings by CRH's. Wound up finding (4 ) forty %'ers. Pretty happy with that . 5 more boxes coming in between now and Saturday. Good luck guys.

You would think brinks and them probually make more $$$ rerolling all our stuff and charging the banks, then keeping silver. They should start culling all silver, then add 10 40% and 1 90% per box, so they can make the money rewrapping....lol

Hey I live in Houston too. What part do you live in? I checked out 6 banks in Sugar Land today and none had any halfs or Ike's I guess maybe you got to them before me. What banks do you use as dump banks? I'm gonna try and find a place to order Ike's I'll let you know if I do.

I do 40 boxes a week, find MY OWN MARKED COINS all the time, and guess what? I'm still averaging 10oz a week, easy... It doesn't matter if you're seeing marks or not, what matters is if silver is being cashed in... and if it is, you're good to go.

Heres my thoughts: If coins are marked, it means they have been in circulation. The unmarked coins around them are also from ciculation. Think of the unmarked coins as Customer Wrapped Rolls jumbled with other stuff.

Houston, I think everyone that starts this hobby pictures a huge vault, and the further you get back in it, the better the coins get. Unfortunately, it's just not how it works. I'm sure there are a few courier, bank, or federal vaults that have some coin that hasn't circulated in many years, but the reality is that there's nothing any of us can do to get it. Don't worry about getting 'marked' coins. To echo others, I've had boxes that produced several ounces of silver amongst 10's if not 100's of marked coins. We are all just passing coins back and forth, waiting on people that are hard up, poor, or ignorant to dump silver into the mix. That's just how it is.
