Any opinions? The letters definitely look extra thick, especially the "E"

i think I see notching on the top right of the "M" as well

The coin came from a VLDS die. What you are seeing next to the rim is die flow.

I see, thank you.. That causes the letters to appear to be doubled and thicker?

Can you tell the difference between MD and DD with the naked eye? I swear just about every penny I can see doubling and than I have to scan it to make sure its not a true DD.... I need a faster way lol

buy a nice loupe. I use a 10x triple hastings bausch and lomb and I love it! Be sure not to get one too powerful or you will see things that aren't there. Also I'm quite new at this and in the very beginning I found 27 DDs in a row! That's the power of the mind, wishful thinking and reflection. :)

This coin is not VLDS. It is MDS to LDS, and there is nothing at all doubled from what I can see. It is a completely normal coin.
