Found this one yesterday in change. Closest I've had to a solid....it's like being just that one number away from a big Lotto win...
The one I'd love to get is a JD06 101964 That'd mean more to me than a solid, also the missus would like GD09 091964

i have three of these $5 serials with only one number off being solid and they're devastating and great to find at the same time.

Quote: Couple of Birthdays? That's correct!! Enworb, agree that being so close to a solid is both annoying and yet satisfying at the same time - I'd have been more peeved had the '1' been at the very end, instead of where it is here. Least I wasn't really that close to getting all the 2's here - someone 10,000 notes away may have got lucky, though.

Yeah, nice one. I have a few $50's in EF/aUNC condition similiar. One has a consecutive note too. Wouldn't it be nice to find on in circulation. Yeah, the birthday would be awesome...the closest I've got to CG06031982 is CG06030054. Maybe one day.
I admit, I am powerless over $50 notes - to the point that my life has become unmanageable because of this addiction. I am a NOTE-A-HOLIC

hi. what is a solid? is that when all 6 digits are the same? I came across a fifty that is 05 200000. I presume this is close? but then again you wouldnt get all zero's?

You are correct - a solid has all the 6 numbers the same. 000 000 only got produced on some earlier years if I remember correctly.

If I found that one I probably keep it,mainly because I like 7's.

I think for $10 you have to keep ones like that. Yours is made better because there's another 7 in the year.

Hi, I've been trying to avoid note collecting because of the cost, but this $10 caught my eye yesterday. Just eleven off being a solid. The bads news is that I am instantly hooked now on looking for special numbers ... And I know this $5 isn't call a radar or repeater, but can't think of the correct term. Can someone please let me know? Thanks, Mandy

Here's one for you Enworb, from my latest $1,500 of $5's. I know how much you like the number 5! I'll PM you. awildeheart; I'm not sure what you'd call that. If it was 505505 or 696696 it would be a radar repeater, but on its own...I can't tell you. Maybe a semi-radar? Nope...just a serial number (maybe an interesting serial to some?)
