1943 Nickel With Massive Lamination Errors

Susuman Pillar of the Community United States 595 Posts	Posted 05/22/2013 10:57 pm I was just looking through my box of mangled coins and found this 1943 silver nickel that has serious lamination problems on both sides of the planchet. There are laminations peeling off all over the obverse, and most of the reverse is gone too. The largest lamination separation on the obverse is at the LIB in LIBERTY, with other in the upper hair line, forehead, chin, collar, and the field behind the neck. Somebody obviously helped the reverse lamination to come off based on the scratch marks. Is a lamination like this worth something? Thanks to all! Report this Post to the Staff

I have about 20 troy ounces saved and they are in terrible shape. I have taken into account that they are wore so its actually more in weight but I know I have at least that much silver in the lot.
