Hi all,,, I have a question about 1818 cent newcomb 8.
On the coinfacts website the newcomb 8 variety is listed as Extremely Rare. Their are 2 die states for this variety, 1 has a Cud on the obverse. Is their a difference of rarity between the two die states?

18 N-8 is not extremely rare. It rates an R-3 which is "not so common" It doesn't even rate "scarce". The very late state with rim cuds/crumbling from star 5 through star 8 would probably attract more interest than the earlier states. N-8 is a popular variety due to the circular arc crack through the stars.
