Com on and give her a shot. I will post up tomorrow night the actual grade from ANACS. There is a VAM in this. Micro O and die cracks. That was not attributed. Go ahead and give her a shot. Now I know why I pay to much for coins. Bryan is DA man. Nice work my friend. AU 58 on the nose. Now I know how I pay to much for coins. I over grade them way to often.

This is a nice strike for a New Orleans mint coin. Even with the lack of luster I'm going to say at least MS-63.

I agree. The obverse looks stronger strike wise. I'll say MS62.

I believe ANACS gave this one a 64. The obverse strike is a little weak and since it doesn't look dipped, you don't have much flash so maybe a 63.

Its tough for me to try to get any of the toning to show, There is no luster, it has toned to a light purple/pink on the obverse, and blues, purple, pink and some greens on the wings.

O mint marks are tough for me but I was thinking AU-58 but with it being a O mint it could be a MS-63 I guess. I hate even saying anything but since I did look at the topic I will stick to my answer, when I looked at the coin my first thought was AU-58

My thoughts echo Bryan ... AU-58 with the lack of luster and what I thought could be a rub on the hat, but I'm no expert and it could be MS.

its a good thing you don't collect Morgans because you would be overpaying by allot because usually the Morgans jumps a considerable amount from 64 to 65 (sometimes a thousand or more dollars). This coin is a MS-64

This one is a MS-63

The pic of the coin in the slab clearly shows that the coin is circulated. I think if the original pic would have been of the coin in the slab with the slab grade cropped off most of us would have been more in line with the correct grade.

Good job Bryan though for nailing it.

see, I told you I don't collect Morgans so I'm not up on grading them.....

The original pictures did make it look better though.

bman, don't feel bad, this is how we all learn. Believe me I have made mistakes before and definitely will again when it comes to grading and I DO collect these things
