Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6381 Posts	Posted 02/08/2010 2:51 pm I went to the Long Beach show and managed to locate this piece. I've needed a "with arrows, with motto" type (the Red Book calls it "variety 5") and this looked like a good choice. What are your opinions regarding grade and value? Report this Post to the Staff

echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 02/08/2010 5:51 pm I see some very light wear on the top of Ms Liberty's head and breast, and legs. With the amount of remaining luster I would grade this coin at AU-53. With a value in the area of $450. Very nice addition. Report this Post to the Staff

BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 02/09/2010 01:54 am Boy I only see the slightest friction on the high points and believe 55 is a minimum grade for this coin. Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6381 Posts	Posted 02/10/2010 09:58 am The Coin Community graders were pretty close on this coin. There is only a trace of wear and the major grade limitation is the subdued luster on the obverse. The same dealer had a PCGS MS-63 example of this date that to my eye looked almost identical, with only slightly stronger luster. With the MS coin priced at more than 3X the price of the AU, I went with the cheaper coin. Report this Post to the Staff
