Australian Coin Values
This laymans guide will identify Australia's most valuable coins and notes to get an accurate idea of what a dealer will pay for them.
I was just wondering how many of you agree with me on the following? When it comes to the value of rolled coins do you think a roll that has a coin showing heads on one end and tails on the other end is worth more? I think in order of preference it goes; HT/TT/HH. Opinions? Thanks much, John1
From the perspective of buy/sell/trade, if the mint mark and year are on opposite sides of the coin, then HT is preferred. I have BU State quarter rolls with HH -- no doubt a bit irritating. I'm told that you can peel back one end of the shotgun, flip the coin and roll it back up, but it doesn't look that easy.
All rolls are becoming a little scarry. Way to easy to open, replace some with junk coins or even washers, reseal to look like just came from the bank. One of the many reasons around me Bank of America and some other banks now have a new policy for coins. Any coins you bring in, loose or in rolls, are placed in a plastic bag, sent out somewhere for counting, the results are entered into your account. Naturally there is now a charge for this. And if no account, your sent a check and letter explaining the additional charge for the check too.
