Here are some stats. so far, for what they are worth: Twelve 18th century coins were reported, eleven of them were cents. For the rest of those reported, I have only included coins with a 19th century date. Where numbers are in brackets, I have indicated the most commonly reported date.
1/2 cents: 4: 1800, '04, '20, and '44.
cents: 1794 - 1799: 11. (1794) 1800 - 1810: 15. (1802) 1810 - 1820: 4 1820 - 1830: 1 1830 - 1840: Nil 1840 - 1850: 1 1850 - 1900: 9 (40 coins in total)
2 cents: 1864 - 1867: 4 (1864)
3 cents silver and cu-ni: 5
5 cents 1/2 dimes and nickels: 4
10 cents: 1800 - 1841: 8
20 cents: 2
25 cents: 1800 - 1810: 7 (1807) 1810 - 1820: 4 1820 - 1830: nil 1830 - 1900: 4 ( 15 coins in total)
50 cents: 1795; 1 1800 - 1810: 5 (1809) 1810 - 1850: 8 1859 - 1900: 1 (15 coins in total)
1 dollar: 1799: 1 1800 - 1900: 4
Gold all denominations: 1800 - 1850: 4, 1850 - 1900: 3.
NOTE: It must be remembered that there will be a bias towards the earlier dates, due to the nature of the question which was posed.

Excellent synopsis. Glad to know I fall in the mean in not the mode, and that I'm skewed to the left of the median.

I am considering starting another thread later, asking about the date of ANY coin struck in North America before the first coins issued by the U.S. Federal Mint. That would have to include coins struck in the Colonies as well as in Mexico.
Let's see how much further we can get with this thread first.
Oh! I forgot! I have a large cent 1837!
