This is a very very rare coin, the Peso Caballito 1909 was a prototype, many people thing that this coin don't exist.  |

Just for the fun of it: I found a couple of lousy fakes for sale on ebay, imitating the Syracuse tetradrachm in design. The first has a monkey like figurine added at the top.  The second one is lettering 'Filistidos' instead of the usual 'Syrakosion'. Don't know for sure, but this may well be an injury addressing the buyer's ignorance... and in both cases the horses head in opposite sense.  Edited by Gwyde

I have 3 that aren't on hand for me to post. They are all Canadian. Two are 2014 Lunars and a 2015 $100 coin. I used to raise Arabian horses. So I've decided to start a horse sub themed collection. I hope members will post images of horse coins, with date and country. This will give me ideas for coins to collect!  |

This is a good start, I really like the 2012 dollar, nice horse head portrait. Many horse coins I've seen murder the fine details. The $100 Canadian horse coin is a very course image. are they circulating in the states.

The Nevada State Quarter has horses running in the open expanse which imho is one of the best of the original designs by far. The Wyoming quarter also has one, a bucking bronco with rider |
