i just went through 32 pounds of change my brother has been throwing into a drawer. it was all pennies, nickels and dimes. I pulled 2 nickels I needed; one was a common date in the 60's the other was a silver '45. I found a 1949 Canadian nickel in really nice shape. nothing in the dimes. in the pennies I found 8 wheats. 2 that I needed for my folder. I also found an '86 LMC with a machine doubled date, and a 1984 minus the "4" thanks to a Grease Filled Die. I also pulled a Canadian centennial cent and a bunch of old arcade tokens. |

Today (Feb. 15) was good for some interesting coins: 1957-D Nickel, 1998 Bahamas 5¢, 1970 Canada Cent, and two William Henry Harrison-D Presidential dollars (that aren't even 'officially' released from the Denver Mint until this Thursday!  )  |

Last week I got 7 Eisenhower dollars in one shot at the bank and at least 2 were Bicentennial. Packing for a move but will start posting interesting finds. I don't have albums yet but really need to get some to start organizing. Edit - 3 Bicentennial - pretty decent shape. Edited by coins1977

Got a 2000 Commonwealth of the Bahamas Twenty-Five cent coin in change.
Very pretty coin with nice sail boat on the reverse.

Hello, My wife gave me a coin on the 1st of February, my birthday. She received it in change from a McDonald's. She asked me was it a Canadian quarter. I looked at it. It is a 1915P Barber quarter. Looking at Photograde, it appears to me to be VG-8. It is the first Barber quarter for my collection. She was thrilled, as was I. Allen |

Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted but I thought I would let you know of some finds. I've been averaging 1 silver dime every 2 weeks and last week I found a Buffalo nickel with no date (might be a "4" as the last number). I also found a 1950 $5 and a guy I work with found a $10 from the 1920s (23 I think it was)....he wouldn't part with it LOL |

i found a possible 1909S LWC, it's got a lot of crud on it, but it looks like it might be an S. What are people's thoughts on removing the material, which I'm hoping is merely organic gunk. Is acetone acceptable for coppers? Or should I leave it as is and assume it's an S? I can post pics of it when I get back home on monday. |
