Decorative pieces loosely based on Ottoman coins. The side with the flowing design is reminiscent of an Ottoman tughra (monogram).

These are sometimes called "belly money" referencing the ornamentation of a dancer's dress. Yours however are the very first that I've ever seen strung together, as they would when part of a costume.
