Frizzle frazzle fraking...argh! I just knew you wee going to say that Jbuck. I will get a non fog and then dip it amd see what happens. I wouldnt think it would need more than a couple seconds. That quick shouldnt do a lot. But will definately get a replacement first.
Oh, glad I could make you drool. LOL

Quote: I will get a non fog and then dip it amd see what happens You are a much braver man than I; but I knew that, you being a firefighter and all. I guess the worst that can happen is you end up with a 40% bullion coin. I have always said, there is no such thing as bad Eisenhower dollar. Just be gentle with him! If I were to do it (let's be clear, I would not), then I would most definitely dilute the dip first.

Well, to prove a point on another site, I did a 30 second plus dip on a circulated proof. Granted it was not silver, but it did not reduce the finish at all. The coin looked exactly the same after.
But rest assured, I will not subject this Ike to that. But the only way to know just what does happen is for someone to step up and do it under controlled citcumstance. So when the time comes pics will be taken and we will see.
And firefighters arent brave. We are just to dumb to know not to run INTO the burning building. LOL

I am all for it then, in the name of education. Quote: And firefighters arent brave. We are just to dumb to know not to run INTO the burning building. LOL

OK, First off VERY NICE SET! Looks especially nice the way the light is hitting your '73 & '78 proofs Now I hope this isn't a dumb question.. What is the BU standing for? I always thought BU stood for Brilliant Uncirculated, but that doesn't make sense for an album to have that. I was assuming the S B.U. issues are the San Fran business strike for that year, but you have noted that those are silver. Thanks

Congrats! Always feels good to finish off a collection, I just keep upgrading though! So it's never quite done.

The 40% silver coins come in Uncirculated and Proof. Dansco chose to use BU to describe them as being different from the proof issues that year. Since they were not issued for circulation, they are all technically uncircluted (although they have been found in the wild).
