I have been collecting these from circulation for six months now. Have a full roll of the first three from both mints and a half roll of LP4 from each. What I have noticed though is that with the last couple months I have seen the quality of these coins in circulation falling off FAST. I used to pull 2 or 3 keepers from a box back in may, now I am lucky to find one worth keeping. Either a lot of people are pulling the nice ones out or they are degrading fast. I see plenty in circulation, is just the condition is crap now.

In reply to Lincolncentguy.... I also have yet to find a set of 2009 Lincolns in circulation. I'm on the east coast, and for some reason they just don't show up in change.

I don't think I could complete it from circulation. The D mint 2009's are scarce in the midwest, especially the LP4's.

I've got a see-thru wrapped roll of new/au 2009 pennies, and on one end is one of the 4 lincoln backs. I have not opened it yet. could be 50 unc.
What should I do? Leave unopened or open?
Thanks

I live in the Eastern US and I probably have gotten only 2 or 3 total of the D mint 2009 cents. At the end of 2009 I purchased 1 roll each of all the D rolls from a local dealer for $3 a roll because I wanted them. I decided to try to assemble a roll of P mints from circulation. Last year they were coming fairly often but they really tailed off this year. I have gotten 1 roll of LP1, about 1/2 roll each of LP2 and LP3. I had not seen any LP4's at all until late last year when I was at a local McDonalds for a party. I noticed other people getting the P mint LP4's in change so I asked about them. They had several rolls of them but they were only willing to sell me 1 roll and a few singles. I have seen a few LP4's since then but not many. I have never seen any 2009 nickels or dimes in circulation, either P or D.
