True but why type when you can hit a button?
It's not that I'm lazy....I just look for ways that keeps me from doing work

I'm lazy, too. I use a Firefox add-on that gives me a key sequence to enter [qu ote][/qu ote] for me. Then I just have to paste the quoted material in between.

for me. Then I just have to paste the quoted material in between. Does it automagically put the cursor in the right place? If so, hook me up.

That's interesting. The forum successfully parsed your use of "quote" even though you broke it and I copied it verbatim.

Quote: Does it automagically put the cursor in the right place? If so, hook me up. No, but I have gotten used to the "Click/Right-Click/Paste" sequence. Still better than pressing '[' 'q' 'u' 'o' 't' 'e'... http://clippings.mozdev.org/

Quote: Once in Reply to Topic and after you highlight the text you want to quote simply click the button above the Color option
OK, It works for me, but I had to highlight the text and copy it, then click the quote button and then paste between the html quote code. Just highlighting the text and simply clicking the quote button only gave me Quote:, and I was in "Relply to Topic" Thanks

I have been wondering this myself, now I have to try it to see if I got it right.

Quote: How do you use the quote feature. I've been trying to select, and then look for a quote button or something. It's not very obvious...... or I'm just not seeing it?
This is a test.....it is only a test..... had this been a real post, it would have been more interesting. This test is now concluded. Thanks for the above info.....I needed to learn how to do this. Thought it had to do with my HTML being off.

I don't know why we even have the Quick Reply. I generally instinctively start my typing there while my response is banging about in my head but then end up copying and pasting it all into the Reply to Topic box anyway to check my spelling before posting. I thought I remembered it once having the check spelling like the Reply to Topic has but maybe I am wrong. I think it would be simpler if we just had Reply to Topic every time.

I use the quick reply sometimes, like now. If I am not posting a link, or other detailed coding. Some coding I remember, like and the url coding for making links.

Since I use FF, there is spell-checking built in and it works perfectly in Quick Reply. For what it is worth, I am using Quick Reply now.

The Quick Reply did have a spell check, but that feature had a serious bug. Since all modern browsers (apparently, IE not included) have a spell checker, it was never fixed or replaced.
