If I do buy them I will make sure I get them for a good price.
The least she could of done was just say that she went through them already. So now I will ask first if she went through them or not.

why? I'm sure tellers could say the same thing about us roll searchers. The tellers spend time rolling the coin just to have someone buy it, open it, and return it the next day and then they have to re wrap it again. I'm sure we would all love to spend an hour or 2 doing something at our jobs just to have someone delete it and make us do it all over again in a day or two. Also do you know how much a teller a makes? Most make at or just over minimum wage. I say if they find/search for silver, more power to them. Edited by Rewster

Some banks don't allow the tellers to keep coins, others do. But yeah I agree, if you were a teller I'm sure you would be pulling silver if you could.

So you are guessing that she sorted them? How do you know that they are not another crh'ers dump?

First, please don't get me wrong. I am not mad at all with her. I know she has every right to do this and I am glad that somebody is getting the silver. I am just a little disappointed that with the good relationship we have she would not at least tell me she searched through them before I bought them.
I talked with her today. She told me that she is sorting them and buying them. The funny thing is, a person just brought in 5 rolls of halves and went to a different cashier. That cashier told me to come over. She told me these just came in and said they were not searched yet. I ended up buying them and found 3 40%ers. Funny how things work out.
I also gave her my quote today. She what see says.

But honestly a large majority of halves banks deal with are from roll searchers. All banks really want to do is get rid of the halves. Otherwise they are sitting on a mountain of them (takes up space) or have to sell to Brinks or whomever (expense). Pretty much the rule is caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). |

Agree with both sides here - being a former commercial teller myself in college. I always told people what I searched through before they bought the rolls, just to be polite and not waste their time.

The roll hunter's #1 rule of thumb is always BUY 'EM ALL!
Many times I have bought rolls of dumps or sorted coin, and have still found solid silver rolls, or individual silvers.

She is selling them on her own. I ended up giving a price but have not heard back from her yet.
