I have one UNC set (rolled) in my top dresser drawer...it's not bothering me a bit. Actually just opened up the roll to look 'em over and over half of them have developed a GOLDEN TONE!

Do what your "inner-collector" tells you!

I would say do what ever you feel is the best. no one else can really tell you what you can do. search ebay for complete sets and what they are selling for. if this is a price you are happy with and you want to sell them then go for it.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Actually my set is only about 90% complete. A few of them toned over the years and got removed. Eh, all in all they just don't interest me and are just taking up an entire row of a coin box. Since I am trying to downsize, and since 95% of the coin that interest me are ancients or darksiders, I just feel the need to purge a bit.

I always say that if you can afford to keep them (that is, you do not need the money), then keep them. The worst case is that you spend them five or ten years from now.

Of course, if you need the money now to buy coins that you do want, then sell them.

jbuck- Yeah, it is not that I am that hard up for money; rather, I just think that State Quarters are not exactly that desirable, collectible, etc. And they are just taking up a lot of room. If I were to cash them in and also cash in my prez. dollar coins I would have enough to buy a single, nicer coin.

And to be honest, I try to make my collection seem dissimilar to coins that one might use in a vending machine. A nice roman bronze would make me much happier than just glorified change.

Ah, I did not take storage space into consideration. Good call then.

OK, well I think that I will just cash them in at the bank. Holding onto them will just not really pay off in the end, and I am just not that fond of the designs.

It's only 50 coins (plus the "extra" states). Where's the harm in keeping one example of each? All that hard work put into putting the set together to cash in a measly $25? I say keep 'em.

IF you need the money, dump them. Same with the baby dollars. Neither will ever make you rich. I have a few Whitman Albums full of those Quarters and when the started the Park stuff, I stopped. If you don't need the money, remember that in about 100 or 200 years you could sell them for a little over face value making keeping them worth something.
Not sure why I keep mine except I just don't need the money right now. I fell for that keeping all the Bicentennial Quarters back in the 70's. After over 30 years I found they were at least worth a Quarter.
As to those baby sized dollars, I don't even try to collect those at all. So many do that even in 10,000 years they will be worth about $0.99 + or - a little.

I agree. No need to keep the rolls and rolls of them, but you should keep at least one full set.

Thanks for the input, everyone! I think that I'll dump them all. I really have no need for them. Once the US goes back to having one quarter design each year, then I'll go back to saving a BU P & D of each.

I do think you should keep one complete P&D set. It is only $28.

I'm not overly keen on them but am keeping the folder I have with them.

I can't wait for the US to go back to something simple like the Eagle reverse, not something with 5 different designs every year. I like the old designs!

You may want to reconsider. The current program will, at minimum, run until 2021. The series may (and probably will) be extended by the Secretary of the Treasury to 2033. I do not know about you, but I am in no hurry to get to 2033.
