I did use a bit of acetone to get to crud off of the date area.

no mintmark on the reverse, I would have jumped for joy!

It looks like 1916, but why don't you "pan out" with the camera so we can see more of the coin?

The pictures taken at an angle most definitely look like 1916.

Weeder - that's not panning out - that's zooming out. =)

"Panning" is when you follow a moving object with a camera.

"Panning out" is the results of a search (primarily for gold) with a pan through water and silt - usually used metaphorically but I suppose in camera talk could refer to the developing process.

I'm not sure why seeing that bothered me enough to write all this, but I guess it did! Just being ocd again I guess! ;)



Looks like a 6 to me, no question.
