You mention there were metal detector finds, where they found in the UK or the US?

I love the wren! I will have to collect a set of those one day. Does anyone know what they cost on average per coin, or a xf-unc set?

realpenny: The farthings and half pennies of George V1 and Elizabeth 11 are as cheap as chips, and should be collected in EF or better condition.

Because of the low cost, it would be an enjoyable persuit with excellent 'bang for your buck', to do an in depth study of these series.

It would be good to set up an email correspondence network with the U.K. based members of the CCF, and post the results of your studies here in the CCF.

In the first instance the start of the collection of these two series could be done through dealer's junk bins on their premises, and at coin shows.

Thanks sel_69l. I found a pdf that has a little more info on the Wren series:

I am starting to get into the Newfoundland small cents which would be nice to go along with the Wrens. Both series have a small number of coins, but I love the reverses on both series.

Find some more Wrens jessvc1 - they are a nice coin to find, I think.

Nice finds! You took your detector to England? How cool! Keep your eyes open for a Edward VIII threepence for me? I need that one, condition doesn't really matter.

If you find ANYTHING for Edward VIII, first check it isn't fake, then sit down and take some slow deep breaths. Then reconsider where you would like to holiday this year!

Nice finds.
