Yes well - uhm ... You should tell me the bank's phone number so I can -- erm -- call them to grab them myself --- I mean! Vouch! Yes! Vouch for your character and let them...

Aw I'm fooling no one. :-)

Write a check from another bank for the coins, search them and then deposit them into the bank you wrote the check from.

Writing bad checks is a crime and I would never suggest doing something illegal so please disregard the statement above.

What would you do with the $1,000 coins after you are done searching them? Give them right back?

I don't have $1000 to get them now. If I did I would have picked them up.

Try prosper.com where you can get a peer to peer loan.

The fact that you have money to set aside for your hobby, that would say that you're pretty lucky and blessed. There are tons of people in the United States alone that end the day without having met all four basic criteria for survival: food, water, shelter and clothing. I am humbly reminded of this each time I buy a coin or have the opportunity to do so. Happy new year.

One thought would be is to apply for a personal loan
at that bank for $1,000 and take the bag of halves
in payment. With interest rates running as low as they are
it would only be a few bucks in interest on a $1,000 dollar
loan. And when your done searching them take them back to
pay off the loan.

I too agree you should attempt to get a pay day loan.
However, what if that teller just had a CENTS of humor and no such bag existed?

Hold on. If the bank teller knows you well enough to tell you the bag is full, then why don't you just go to the bank and ask if you can search the coins there in the office. When you are done, you and the bank can settle-up.
Rest in Peace

They wont let me search the bag. I tried to get her to let me look through the mutilated bills one day and she said she couldn't do it. The bag has not been changed in quite sometime according to the teller. I am going to ask her on Monday if she can hold onto to it for a couple weeks. Guess I will stick to my penny boxes for now.

I hope you can get it. It would be interesting to hear what you find.
