To confirm, double check the die marker on the back. It should be pretty obvious.

It doesn't have the die markers. The coin is in decent shape, could it be a new one?

You might have a different reverse or an earlier die example? What does the bottom serif on the mint mark look like. The glare white outs it.

I bet it was extremely exciting. I still remember mine its was a 1953D-1MM-001. I have only found one more after that so far but they will keep coming if we keep looking. Good luck and awesome first find.
