Yeah RogerD, we've had discussions about this on cents before, some of the appear to have "micro printing" on them. No one has given me a firm answer for their existence yet.

Ugly...What is this "micro printing" all about anyway....? RogerD...I see the "C" now that you mention it...What is that all about...?

I don't know Wert, as I said tiny barely struck letters and numbers appear faintly in the fields of some cents, always at that location. Maybe it's a sign to repolish the die, I have NO idea. Maybe the guys at the mint have one too many cocktails at lunch and come back and do this just make us wonder what is going on.

Is the 'C' directly southwest of that white dot/puncture at the center of the latest photo posted?

yes,
there are more conversations here about similiar marks with other letters and numbers appearing even on MS grade coins.

Thanks, I'll go ahead and jot something down here.
I'm looking at the C and thinking in an abstract way, that the 'C' could easily be a 'G'. When I look to the left of the possible 'G', I see three darker coloured markings that appear to basically form the letter 'K'. That would be 'K.G.'. I realize that's way out there somewhere, but that's what I see.

I can't wrap my head around those being on the same axis, but I certainly understand someone else could.

You're right, what I'm looking at is almost horizontally aligned to the page. It's probably very coincidental and could be the direct result of searching a couple of thousand coins today. My eyes simply don't perform like they used to...

staircase...There is a "C" below that dot you are referring to...But, to the left side there seems to be a very faint "K" as I am looking at it...I am not an expert, but I can not figure out how letters can get stamped over on that side of the coin...? This is about as good as I can get...See the "C"...?

If you look long enough enough you can clearly see that it's an ornament in Elvis' neckwear, note the outline of the large lapels below, and the stubble on his chin above. An hour ago I mistook it for a fold in Jesus'robe.
