I love the way you say "your database suggests". When things are far from home in safe storage it's all you've got.

One of the problems with the database is that when I buy multiple items in a single lot, its hard to put an exact price on each item. So, with a number of items, I have simply entered (say) $20 for each of 5 items that I bought for a $100. Sometimes it is laziness, othertimes I have had a terrific deal for a bulk lot. Overall my database totals exactly what I have paid for everything, but not necessarily for individual items.

What price does one put on scarce coins found while noodling. My wavey is worth 20 cents. My mules are a $1. LOL

Yass,
While they may have cost you "face value" to get them, I would think that they are worth replacement cost (assuming you needed to replace them).

You simply need another column for current market value, or even columns for each year.

Then you have both cost and replacement value.

I've actually had two Barcelona $1 come through the shop over the past three years. I ended up selling them on ebay for between $15-$20. It's amazing what sometimes comes through the till. I've got a friend who got a $2 coin years ago which she kept. It was a 1988 $2 silver proof (rubbed & knocked good & proper from circulation). Always odd how far & how some of these coins escape.
