Beautiful coins. As you know, I began a Dansco 7070 a short time ago after reading about them here in the forum. Outside of having to buy a few (Draped Bust, Capped Bust)I filled the majority of the holed with coins I have on hand - hadn't really paid that much attention to how many different types I've got laying around. I've got all the holes filled except ten - still nedd a draped bust Half Cent, Coronet Half Cent, Capped Bust quarter, Capped Bust-Reeded Edge half dollar, three more commemorative halves, the two Seated Liberty dollars, and the Trade dollar. Of course, unlike your album, my coins are well-circulated - they've been out amongst the hordes, but I like 'em. I, too, was getting a little stale looking at the same types all the time, and this has given me a whole different direction to go in, and I like it. When I fill this one, I'm going to start one with higher grade coins. This is going to be an ongoing thing for me.

I didn't have many coins at all to fill many holes because I had only been collecting about a year total and that whole time I had been collecting Morgans and thats mostly it, so I was basically starting from scratch except for the modern coins

Bryan, I hear ya on the time thing. I'm sure you'll recall from some of my previous posts, I only started collecting in March of 2005, and my collection is a hodgepodge of many different types and grades dating back to the Seated Liberty series - Capped Bust now that I have the 7070 album. Buying this album was the shot in the arm I was needing because I, too, had concentrated primarily on the dollar and half dollar coins. I have alot of loose coins ranging from G-4 through MS - not enough of some types to buy an album for yet - usually wait until I have a couple dozen of a particular type before I buy an album for them - so this 7070 album has been just the ticket for me. It allows me to organize, as well as view these coins without digging through a bunch trying to look for a particular coin. I absolutely love it. I could probably fill another couple of them about half way with the old and new coins I have on hand, but I want the next one to be filled with higher grade coins, and, with my income, that one will take quite awhile to complete.

it is now updated with my first "Double Eagle" as promised. It was a PCGS MS-62 that I got for 715.00 including shipping which I think is a pretty good price

I finally sat back and looked at the album long and hard tonight and noticed I have gotten allot further than I ever expected to get within the short amount of time I have been working on this album. There are 86 holes including the gold coins and I need 35 more coins to have the album complete (that is including the ones that are going to be upgraded) The lowest graded coin I will have in there is an AU-50 and the overall percentage is about MS-62 which I am happier than a puppy with two wieners about

Bryan, that is an absolutely stunning set. You should be proud of what you have put together. The photos are some of the best looking coins I have seen on this forum. Well done. Steve

Bryan1315,
A gorgeous album. The coins are fantastic... Good work, just hope you are able to finish it relatively fast.... I know money is always a problem, but good luck.
A piece of advice, the next time you photograph the album put some sort of backing between the leafs to preclude seeing other coins from being seen, which will really highlight the leaf that you are showing. Berry

I know I should have done that but each time I fill a hole I will update the webpage and the coin will be seen where now whats behind it is seen. It was a mistake I made and when I figured it out I was to far into the project to start all over again so I left it as is but believe me I did think about that after it was to late

no I had to sell off a few from the first page to a friend of mine when I was hurting for money and that is one that is still missing along with 2 large cents and the 1859 Indian Head cent, but I had that page full at one time

Thank You, it has come along way within a few short months I have been working on this thing. I guess I have been working on it about 3-4 months now and have gotten allot further than I thought I would get in that amount of time especially since I was looking for problem free AU+ coins which in itself can be a challenge on some of the coins involved

Bryan1315: Fabulous collection. What camera setup or technique did you use to get such supurb picts?
My coin picts are hit or miss. Some look great, while some are kinda lackluster.
Of course my setup is not great -- a 6-megapix Kodak Easyshare, which has a 10x optical zoom.
It has a "closeup" setting on the dial, which is the closest thing to a macro, I suppose.
I can put the settings on manual, and have gotten some decent shots using natural sunlight (not direct), with the camera at least 16" away from the coin, and with aparture on f4, shutter speed 1/8, and ISO at 400.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I just use a camera I have had for a couple years now that I got off of ebay for like 30 bucks from a surplus place, it is a JVC 3.3 MP GC-QX3HD camera and all I do is set it up into macro mode in manual settings and snap the picture, sometimes I use a small tabletop tripod but most of the time I am just holding the camera in my hand. Thats basically it, nothing special
