Will do Angel. There are a few local dealers I frequent and will spend some with them. Also looking at maybe doing a deal with a fellow CCF member. Thanks, Earl

You're very welcome. For me basically the best price when you factor in everything. And always a place to sell quickly if ever the need be. If you have 3 check them out first! I was lucky with the big drops in price as well. Many online showed out of stock and I have heard that some places charged higher than the price difference with spot but I was very lucky to have availability plus price. Plus they count them out and you can remove any you don't want. You can also buy what ever denomination

Silvertowne!

http://www.silvertowne.com/p-11658-...e-value.aspx

by getting 5 of these $2529.75, also has free shipping!

But if you went to a local coin store, you might be able to get 23 or 24xface

SilverTowne, Provident, and APMEX all have $100 face bags of coins at decent prices. If you want really nice looking AU or BU coins, APMEX often has those too. Shipping seems to run from about $12 to about $25 depending on order size and seller. Turnaround will be 2 weeks if by check or 3-4 days if by CC or wire.
I have ordered from all 3 of these and have had good luck with them.

I agree with angel2004, I was just at a local dealer and to my surpise his prices beat goldmart and APMEX and I was able to look at the stuff and no fees. The silver dollars had a slight premium but a price comparible to APMEX cull dollar prices and these were a lot nicer. Check locally.

Plus another benefit to buying locally with established dealers is it keeps small business alive and well and storefronts open!

I bought a few dollars of 90% for $24 per dollar of face from the local shop on Friday. I asked about a volume discount, he doesn't give discounts until you buy a thousand dollars of face. YMMV

Yes, buying locally is a viable technique for most PM buyers. If you can find a local shop that has good prices and gives good service, cultivating them is an excellent idea. Doing this will also help when it comes time to sell some silver. If you have a good local shop and they know that certain items interest their favored customers, they will often call you to let you know that something has come in that might interest you. That is a lot more convenient than dropping in from time to time just to see what they may have at the moment.

Wow, $24 for silver dollars, that's pretty good. I think the other day my dad bought 100 at 29.50 (I thought he did good by basing the price on what APMEX was selling for.)

I have a shop but they don't call due to being so busy. Anytime you go there are customers in the shop and one of the 2 owners are giving directions to get there! Of course could just be coincidence but always busy and fair prices

Well, if they are always busy then they certainly have little reason to hustle for more business. Most shops aren't all that busy in my experience so are more open to cultivating customers more aggressively. Maybe a busy coin shop is a little like a busy restaurant... a sign that good things are going on in there!

Sorry for the confusing post. I meant $24 per dollar of face for 90% dimes, quarters, and halves.

What was Spot at the time for the $24 price? Just wondering since that price is just under using a spot of $34/oz and a really good price. I pay spot plus 3percent and .715 factor
