One day, after a violent storm, it was announced that he was dead.[21] His death was variously attributed to disease,[22] the effects of lightning,[23] or a wound received in a campaign against the Persians.[24] The facts that he was leading a victorious campaign, and that his son Numerian succeeded him without opposition, suggest that his death may have been due to natural causes.[25]

Nice additions, Carus and his sons certainly had interesting lives and deaths.

very nice coins. I found out the more emperors I have on my coins the more I learn about them.

nice coins. And, like Giano said, these coins are not always so readily available. I just checked my catalog and I only own one Carus. I'll have to look for more. I try to have at least two examples of any one emperor in my collection. Here is the image of mine:

giano it looks like the same coin. Nice coin JW. He is not an easy emperor to come by though these coins are all listed as common.

Those are some nice coins. I've seen Carus coins start at around $25 for low grade. I don't have one of Carus yet, perhaps in the future.

All total the three coins cost me $42 a very good price IMO. Ed only collects coins of Carus and his sons, so if your interested in any of them than I recommend contacting him.

Not a bad price at all. I might contact him later, when I get some money.

The Giano Carus coin has the same RIC number 106F. but the officina-marks are different I think *II/XXI.
I have a similar one with a special busttype in the collection.

Regards
Ed

Since you're here, Eddop. By chance would you have any decent Carus coins for under $20 that I could look at. Assuming that you wouldn't mind parting with one?

That's a really nice coin, great details.

Very nice, well-centered coins--at a great price!
The last example is how I would imagine these coins looked in their day.
