Welcome!

I would suggest going to your nearest coin dealer. I know mine GIVES the blue albums away because he has so many, they aren't even selling at $1.00. Typically, they will have some of the cooler, older albums, too. Befriend a good dealer, and they will teach you everything you need to know. Just be sure to spend some money; a dealer's best friend will always be a customer.

OH! The days when a Whitman Folder could be had for thirty-five cents.

In a pinch, a bit of plastic wrap can be used. "Saran Wrap" or whatever.
A "baggie" for a bunch of pennies.

If you got a coin from circulation the choices are many.
The old fashioned two by two cardboard holder is cheap.

A plastic coin-flip will also do.

Both available from any coin dealer.

Just do not clean anything, please ...

OH YES!

Drsandman2 has the best advice:
"Befriend a dealer."
He will be your best source for suggestions.

Witamy! Welcom! Uhhh...its ice cream and movie time here but you might try Barnes and Noble or one of those chain book stores , I got a folder there once! Also, if you buy a 2013 Red Book (retail values...that is what you will pay for a coin, Blue is what the dealer will pay YOU for a coin you sell to HIM or HER)..... there is a coupon in the back for some of the newer quarters coming out...at least in my 2012 there is...better get it from the library before April when it expires!
I would suggest nickels....they are easy to collect! And look at Coinstar machine reject slots, shelfs and baskets...found a BU 1945 Canadian nickel there!

Local coin clubs are a great place to meet "special" people.

Welcome!

If you want to see tons and tons and tons of coins in one room , go to a coin show...ALSO a great place to find odd coin books! Like the Polish Coins book I found...for a Dollar!

I would have to agree with that friendly warning. Once you are 'hooked,' it is like 'crack on steroids!' Of-course, I have NO idea what crack is like... this is just how I imagine the effect.

And congrats on the silver dime. I'm surprised someone as young as you knew that.

Like others have said, Google for a coin dealer and see if they have some cheap blue Whitman folders. That'll get you started. You can always upgrade to holders (have a way to see both sides of a coin and are of better quality).

And go to your local banks and get rolls of coins. You'll find quite a few nickels in the 1950s and maybe earlier. Including a Wheat cent (pre 1959) in every 5-10 rolls or so, if you are lucky.

Although I welcome you to this forum and coin collecting, I really don't mean it. You see the more coin collectors there are out there, the less coins there are available for me. So my new advise is STOP NOW. Leave all those coins for me. Just kidding. Fun to get to use those little face things.
