I agree with Johnny. there could be solder damage. I had to open a $5.00 Liberty last week, with this same bezel.

Some jewelers will put a drop of solder at the top of the bezel so that the coin will not move inside the bezel. Good jewelers will use shims.

Most of these that I have opened, will come right out
with the right screw driver.

But if solder was used there is a good chance the screw will not turn and will have to be cut. You can cut right at the screw and not get near the coin.

IMO the only way you will know what you will get for the coins is to get them out of the bezels and see what the condition of each coin is. And as mentioned the bracelets and mountings will have good value also.

I was able to unscrew the 3 dollar piece, but all other the bezels have a drop of solder on the screws, so this is the only one I could free up. And there is just a slight dent on the head's side in the 3 o'clock position (from the bezel I presume). However the tails side is damage free! Quite nice detail!

I also included some close ups of the 5 dollar piece.

That $3.00 does look pretty good ...for being in a bezel

The process I use for the others, is a very scary process.
I take a very sharp pair of dikes/wire cutters. I cut off the
chain ring. Then very carefully I try to cut just the screw,
right through the top of the bezel. Being very careful to
stay away from the coin.

If you feel like you want to try this, choose the lowest value
coin first. But then the $20.00 coins may be easier then the smaller
coins.

Good luck and welcome to this site.

The $3 piece looks to have XF/AU detail, a few scratches on the reverse. Still a neat $600 or so piece if genuine. Can you post pics of the 1909-s indian half eagle?

That is just ridiculous, wow. I've been waiting to come across one of these at an antique store in the junk bin.

Thank you Johnny and everyone for the valuable insight and comments!
Upstate: It weighs 6oz. total.

6 Ounces? Maybe but one thing I'd do if I were you would be to try a jewler to see if all are real before you do anything. I noticed you said it was inherited. Is that where you got that from aand did you know the person well? I'm a bit pessimistic since not many women would want to wear anything that bulky but of course there are always some that might. I remember a long time ago getting my wife a Gold Charm bracelet and she would never wear it due to it's bulkyness. Looked nice but just not easy to wear. As I said before you get all worked up about it's value, I'd have it authenticated.
If you do go to a jewler, don't mention you plan on selling it though. Pretend that you want to have it insured so you want to know how much to insure it for. Don't mention you plan on taking it apart either.

Very impressive ... if you choose to sell, let the folks on this site know where you've listed. I'd certainly be interested and others may also.

We'd use shims to prevent turning, and a drop of insane stupid crazy glue on the screw threads.

you are one very lucky individual....a very heavy bracelet for someone to have worn (if they ever did), but gorgeous. Is the chain gold too?

I too inherited a gold coin bracelet and was wondering if the coins were of value to a collector. I have two 1926 $2.50 commemorative coins on mine which I know are hard to find.
Thank you all for the wise words. I wore the bracelet once several years ago and it was worn once by previous owner.

, summer1!

A pix, or a description of each coin on it, will be necessary.
