They seemed not too uncommon in Brisbane at the time but I haven't bothered checking any for a while now.

They're not easy to come by nowadays. I've found 384 Standard 2010 20c coins in Brisbane over the last 9 months, and only 8 of them were "bubble" ones. That's a rate of 2% of Standard 2010 20c coins, or 0.1% of all Australian 20c coins.

I have still never found one in Perth and I inspect every coin that passes though my hands.

I haven't found any in Sydney either. I ended up buying a few from Queensland sellers.

Sorry for restarting his thread. I'm new here.
When the 2010 coins first started showing up in circulation, I managed to find $6 worth of the bubble 20c coin from an Armaguard delivery to my workplace. They were all yet to be used by the looks of them.
A friend had only just told me to look out for them but a few days prior.
I still have them all too. I'm going to keep them all just in case they are worth something one day.
What do you all think the price of one which is almost mint would be then? I see someone is still trying to sell a shabby one for $115! Ludicrous.

There's no way these things are worth $115, but considering the poor quality of the ones I've noodled recently, I think $10-$20 per coin is reasonable for an almost uncirculated one. For a circulated one, I'd say about $5 is reasonable. However, I've never bought or sold one, so I really don't know for sure. You really need to ask a professional dealer for advice on that.

I am pretty sure I have a few uncirculated ones of these I put away 6-7 years ago

Thanks Hercules Yeah I thought maybe that price was just to see if someone was silly enough to pay for it. I doubt it though. I've put all mine in holders so I'll just hold on to them. $10-$20 each one day would make a very nice return.

Quote: $10-$20 each one day would make a very nice return. The longer you hold on to them, the more they'll be worth. The 1966 Wavy 20c's now worth $100-$400 in circulated condition, and $2500 in uncirculated condition, but it didn't get that way overnight - it took time. If you wait another 40-50 years, the 2010 Bubble 20c probably will be worth hundreds of dollars, but at the moment, there just isn't enough demand for them. Usually, it takes a generation or two for a coin's value to be fully recognised, so you just have to be patient.

Quote: I went back for a re-read of this Thread, what's happened to Goatieman?,hasn't posted for over 2 years,IIRC he had a great knowledge of Notes. It might be worth checking whether he's still alive. That's the most obvious reason why someone would stop posting, but certainly not the only one. Hopefully, he's just lost interest and will be back again one day.
