I am a fan of airtites, and order them directly from airtites dot com. My favorite Maple setup is the (38mm) capsule with the black ring. This is a picture of a 1965 dollar taken through one, showing the clarity of the capsule (with my iphone to boot):

Dizzying! Very nice set up but I would hesitate myself to invest into storage of bullion coins to this extent.

I like the Air-Tite capsules as well. They offer nice protection from environmental issues and feel very solid (and round!) when examining each coin. My various SMLs are kept in them -- annual bullion issues, privy-marked issues, colorized issues, etc. They also fit nicely into standard 2x2 trays enabling viewing of 20+ coins at a time.
When you buy them in quantity, they can be purchased for less than $1 a piece -- a very reasonable investment to protect the coins in one's collection (bullion or otherwise). IMHO

I've tried both lighthouse and air-tite, air-tite is much better, it's crystal clear, scratch-resistent, fits perfectly and it has surface like those panda coin capsule so it refect light better than plain surface

I have always used the air tight capsules. I have read in other posts..actually one in the last few days that the foam in some of the square capsules (CAN not will) eventually cause black spots on the coins. Especially silver maples since they tend to be suseptable to black and milk spots. Hearsay...but it's what I know. I havent had a problem with any coin thus far ( knock on wood ) with anything going wrong with my maples. I just like the exact fit of the round air tights. I like that it is just my coin and next to no air inside....nothing else! CHEERS!

I also use Airtites to store my SMLs, but my question is now what to store/display the Airtited SMLs in? I see 1cent has some kind of tray (along with a lot more SMLs than I have ), what do the rest of you do to store or display them? Right now, mine are loose in a drawer, but I've been thinking lately about some better way to store and display them.

lighthouse trays are a good and cheap solution for displaying maple leafs, and I also bought a pelican case to store them, it's air-tite too

I use the square lighthouse holders and buy binder pages that hold them this way I can see both sides and show them to people very easily. Not sure about the black foam other than they claim it is safe

Nice Collection Parkay, I am envious.
I am leaning towards a storage system like that.

@parkay: RCM's original square capsule is thicker than lighthouse's, did you replace them all?

Yes they are all lighthouse 2 x 2 Quadrum capsules and pages made for them. Holders are 5.50 for 10 pack, pages are 6.50 for pkg of 2

May be we can get the mods to group all the posts that are related to coin storage method/system into a category/sub-category....
