Will PGCS still grade cleaned coins? I inherited many coins from my Dad. I don't know whether he new they were cleaned before he bought them. Thanks.

I'm not sure what the current policy is at PCGS or if they offer details grades. They used to always get a "genuine" slab. If you want a details grade, you may want to go with NGC.

Looks to be in the F-15 to Vf-20 cleaned range to me.

Agree with VF-20 Cleaned or genuine VF Details.

Very nice coin. I honestly think it looks original from the pics. I don't understand why folks are saying cleaned....if it is, it's a very light cleaning. PCGS will slab a problem coin genuine, but with no grade. I'd just send it into ANACS if cleaned.

I could be wrong, but I see a lot of fine hairlines all running in the same direction, particularly on the obverse. The contrast between the light and dark coloration is too sharp. It's not a severe cleaning, but it doesn't look quite original in my opinion.

Thanks to all. I will send it in to PCGS to see how they grade it and post the results.

I see some hairlines too, but they look scattered enough to be able to be attributed to circulation. The color looks natural to me. I could very well be wrong though. I agree with F15/VF20.

I'll agree with VF20, possibly cleaned. It is tough to tell. I can see hairlines on the obverse field, but if it was cleaned, it wasn't harsh.

Nice coin VF20 I agree, I see the hair lines but could that be the reflection off the plastic. That was my impression.
