Learned something new again here. I could even see how someone might believe these were whizzed in some fashion if they didn't know better. Beautiful coins.

All beautiful examples but biokemist, those are awesome. And thank you for another learning experience.

Love those! I wonder if anyone has ever tried to put together a "woody" set? That would be awesome.

That would be pretty dang cool to have a complete set of woodies. I gotta dig mine up, I have several that I think would photograph really well.

biokemist6, are those your wheats?

Yep, those are two coins that will never leave my collection They are both lustrous uncirculated beauties, the 1919 is very brassy while the 1927 has some lovely violet toning in the darker areas that did not come out too well in the photo. The mark on the reverse rim of the 1919 is a lamination/planchet flaw related to the poor alloy mix.

Very nice everyone, lately I've been on the watch for em electing to throw back very very weak ones.

Thanks for sharing!

Woody cents is one of those things you either love or hate. There is no in-between.

I, for one, love 'em!

I love the woodies! I've been picking some up from around the world... oddly, I don't have a wheat yet though. Now I just have to find time to get some decent photographs of them...
